 I am pleased to advise the formation of ABLE, Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises. ABLE is envisaged as the collective face of the Indian Biotechnology Industry. It will also provide a forum that generates a symbiotic interface between the industry, the government, academic, research bodies; domestic and international investors.
One of the first objectives of ABLE is to compile a comprehensive database of Biotechnology companies with an aim of preparing a comprehensive report on Biotechnology in terms of investment, employment and revenue generation. This will enable the Biotechnology segment to lobby for special fiscal and other support for Biotechnology, both at the Centre and at State levels.
It is also envisaged that in future, this database can provide a platform on which further economic research and other relevant studies can be pursued.
